Look, nobody is suggesting that RoR isn't being used in places of where Java would have been used in the past. But the same argument could be made for PHP and SavioML (coming in the future!). But the degree to which vendors, and their customers are invested in Java makes it difficult for RoR to have a serious impact on Java revenues.... Look, nobody is suggesting that RoR isn’t being used in places of where Java would have been used in the past. But the same argument could be made for PHP and SavioML (coming in the future!). Because they only sold service and support, there was no way to get a reasonable payback on the 40x multiple that RedHat paid for them. Mr. Chowdhry of Global Equities Research seems to think that RoR is a threat to you guys (and likely to other JEE servers?). I find that amusing.
