As a PHP/MySQL developer, I wouldn’t move to Java if you paid me. And I got certified in Java from Sun back in 2002.

I work primarily on small websites and as the only developer, I don’t have time to fool around with Java. I need something I can get out on a website fast.

Java may be what is used for the large websites, but I still see lots of ASP,PHP and Perl out there.

I literally just read the following quote here. Very applicable to the IT ops aspect of PHP adoption in the enterprise:
